THE EUREKA WATERS TRIO

A new chapter in the Eureka Waters project begins in 2026 with the introduction of the Eureka Waters Trio — an evolving collaboration bringing Michael Wouters together with accomplished jazz musicians in an intimate, traditional trio setting:

piano and vocal • double bass • drums

Rather than functioning as a fixed ensemble, the Eureka Waters Trio is conceived as a collaborative musical setting in which the individual voices and backgrounds of the participating musicians become an integral part of each recording.

The current recordings feature Brazilian musicians Itaiguara Brandão on double bass and Christiano Galvão on drums, joining Wouters on piano and vocals.

The trio places the emphasis on the essential qualities of the jazz tradition: musical interaction, space, harmonic freedom and musicians listening and responding to one another in service of the song.

The recordings are mastered by acclaimed Brazilian mastering engineer Luiz Tornaghi, a Latin Grammy-winning engineer whose credits include numerous Latin Grammy-winning and nominated recordings, including work with some of Brazil's most celebrated artists.

The first single introducing the Eureka Waters Trio is Wouters' original composition "In the Blink of an Eye," scheduled for release in September 2026.

An intimate, piano-led jazz ballad, the recording introduces a more stripped-back side of Eureka Waters, placing Wouters' songwriting, vocals and piano alongside the interaction of Brandão's double bass and Galvão's drums.
